Back in Little rock

What do you do when your boyfriend is waaaaaay cooler than you? David is rockin' the mohawk and those ridiculous glasses. I don't like the glasses, but he says they are cool. He bought a brand new truck, pictured above. It's really nice and clean and shiny and has a 3 year warranty! I'm going to be staying with his parents through August, and then moving in with Katie. I'm a little apprehensive about grad school, but I'm used to trying new things by now. Hope everything is good with everyone. It's kinda been a whirlwind of seeing people. Tonight we are having a potluck with his family. See ya.

Elizabeth is amazing

Click here to see Elizabeth's fabulously witty post about this weekend. The one about the dog is the best.

Ashur was playing photographer, He said be sad, be Lindsey Lohan. You guess which one is the right one.

Adventures in Babysitting

And now for your viewing pleasure:

Baby Jed learns to crawl

Baby Jed makes some noise

Look what the cat drug in

I got off the plane Friday and looked around for my grandmother. Next thing I know I see Elizabeth and Christy with a sign that says "welcome home, Chandle". I was so surprised, I screamed. I had the most wonderful weekend. Friday Virginia came over and I got to see my entire family along with Elizabeth. We swam in the pool for hours and talked like we had just seen each other yesterday. I went wedding dress shopping the next day, and found something I really like. I just happens that I'm a little too long waisted, so we need to get one made. Surprise, surprise, sasquatch body strikes again. Things are good here. House 5, you better start commenting on my blog, or I'll come at you with a hoe, the gardening equipment.

525,600 minutes - how do you measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife

So we've graduated. I don't know what to say. I can't sum up something that has changed my life so profoundly. How do you say thank you for that; how do you say goodbye? I cannot believe the things my team has accomplished this year. I've done so much, but feel like there is so much to do, and the thought of doing it without the undying support of my team is heartbreaking. I have grown in ways I didn't think were possible anymore. There is something in my heart now that I will always have calling me to plant that tree, tell that child she can do it and pull up that never ending garlic mustard. They asked us if we could take one quality from each teammate, what would it be, and I've been thinking...
Amar- you're constant determination to make everything, just a little bit more perfect, including yourself
Cameron- you're lightheartedness, no matter what comes your way
Christina- you're compassion that pours out of you 100% of the time, if everyone were as loving to each living thing as you are, there would be no wars or poverty.
Kat- you're beautiful motivation and work ethic, you held us together.
Leigh Ann- you're confidence, you know you can, whatever the task
Nick- you're calm, you don't let things get to you, and I think we all know I could use some of your serenity.
Nicole- You're bravery, you dance and sing like everyone's watching, and you never think twice about it.
Stephanie- You're strength, you may be our "baby" but you hold yourself together like you're made of pure steel.

I love you House 5. You know you have my heart, my support, and my encouragement in everything you choose to do. You presence has made me into a better person, a kinder, calmer, stronger person. May you always seek to rid the world of injustice with all the fervor you had everyday I worked by your side.

Horray for free food

Yesterday was the banquet. Amar won the personal achievement award. Horray for Amar. I have to go get ready for graduation, but here are some pictures from the banquet and afterwards:

NO, I will NOT quote Vitamin C

3 more days and the sad is kickin' in. Last night was team night, and Tina started crying, which got all of us crying a little. We were these crazy people drinking coffee drinks and crying in Caribou Coffee, which is a ridiculous place with stuffed animals and logs. Today we head for the beach; tomorrow is the Banquet, and Thursday's graduation. We are planning a reunion at the wedding of yours truly. Here's a picture of my beloved House 5, the final cut:

Ole Ole Ole Ole

The Capitol Region cup was this weekend. The Senate did beat the House ( a little tear runs down my cheek) but everyone knows that we are cooler. The weekend has been pretty good so far. I went swimming and we had a girls night. Stuff is winding down and I'm caught between being anxious to come home, and sad to leave. This year has been so amazing for me. I've done so many things that can only be described as "AmeriCorps moments". I have grown so attached to these people, that it's like I'm leaving a family. The difference is, we will never all be together again. There isn't some central location that I can visit and get that dose of homesick-remover. When it's over, it's over, and we will all be changed from it, better from it. There I go getting all sappy again. Christina, if you're reading this, don't cry, you get to come to my amazing wedding in May.

P.S. If any of you ever want to move to Arkansas, I need a roomate..... and an apartment.

Nothing new

I have come to terms with the no air conditioning. I am a zen master. Foster Diaz is officially team 5's mascot. He is the best dog in the world. When David and I get married, we will have 2 dogs, Foster Diaz, and Foster Diaz too, not two, but too. I got an email from Chad today. It had pictures of him and his students. It was good to see his face. He'll be headed home from Guinea in August. After that he's going to teach French students in Paris. I am coming to Arkansas in 8 days. Exciting stuff happens next week, banquets, graduation, House vs. Senate soccer match. I'll post pictures of me looking fabulous.

Bad girls

We are back in DC, where there is no air conditioning, and yesterday no running water. Did I do something wrong? Am I being punished for some reason? Anyway, we are trying to wrap up everything around here. Meetings will be held, celebration will abound, and we will once and for all try to deal with that mouse problem. I have to get a hepatitis B booster today, boo for shots, hurray for vaccines! I had a very uneventful weekend. David has lost his cell phone, so we can't talk. I've been partaking in summer reading and trying to fix my MP3 player. I don't think it's fixable. None of the buttons work. The highlight of my weekend was buying a cute outfit from target while simultaneously supporting countless non-profits. According to Pink is the New Blog, it was the highlight of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's weekend too.

Happy Birthday, America

Yesterday was the 4th. We all went in to Philadelphia and had a grand ol' time. There was a free concert and fireworks. Lionel Richie was playing, so I went to get a beer. I come back to find that FANTASIA BARINNO played! I love her. She is my favorite American Idol winner, and I missed her for miller light. SAD. Anyway, we got to watch a wonderful multicultural parade and see crazy people disguised as marching bands. Here are the pictures. The one of the bored kid beneath the sea of cheerleader legs is my favorite. P.S. Someone pooped on the floor AGAIN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TINA!

Christina is 20 today! The park took us to dinner where the manager of Outback generously gave all 30 of us free food. It was really nice. Tina got a cake and everything. They also gave us cool Valley Forge hoodies. You all know how I feel about hoodies.

Lazy Saturday

Last night we saw Superman Returns compliments of the park. I thought it was wonderful. Move over Jake Gyllenhaal, welcome Brandon Routh. Is it weird that I have more of a crush on Clark Kent than Superman? In other news, someone pooped on the floor upstairs. I know it's Saturday, and we're all in our pajamas, but come on, is it that hard to hit the toilet! We have no animals and are all over the age of 19, the question on everyone's mind is "Who would do this??????????." What kind of a sick human being knowingly takes a crap on the floor? One of you did it, and you know who you are! On that note, everyone have a poo on the floor free weekend.
