Mesa Verde, Colorado to Moab, Utah

Yesterday we hit Mesa Verde national park and caught up on some old Anasazi ruins. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, but I haven't been brave enough to let David convince me to stay in the back of the truck. I'm a southern girl; it's COLD outside. We never leave without our down jackets, that frankly, make us look like a couple of Christmas elves. Today we're headed to Canyonlands and Arches to check out more desert. We're planning on going hiking and spending a quiet New Years in Moab, Utah. We thought about going sking, but not having health insurance makes that idea a little terrifying. We'll be in Vegas in two days and get our marriage license and get married. Whoo hoo!

That much further west

Christmas was great. I had a lot of fun with my family. Christy turned 22, and Isabella can stand up on her own. David came to Siloam long enough for us both to catch the same cold and head out west. It turns out it is actually about 7 degrees in New Mexico, so we stayed in a cheap motel instead of the back of the truck. I know, we've both gotten old. We ate dinner tonight in Durango, and headed on to Mesa Verde. Tomorrow we're visiting the park and headed to Canyonlands and in 6 short days we'll be married! I have pretty pictures of the snow, but they are stuck on David's camera because we forgot the cord, but I assure you, there's A LOT of snow.

Pictures of the house, which I love

I graduated!

I actually did it, I have a Master's degree. I also made a 4.0 this semester, which is great. My parent's got me a GPS that can download celebrity voices which has already provided hours of fun. We had a blast at Sticky Fingers the night of graduation, but after that, it was moving time. The day we left for Baton Rouge, David threw his back out trying to pick up a TV, so most of the heavy lifting was up to me. There isn't internet at our new house yet ( or a fridge) so that's my excuse for not posting. I believe this might be the busiest month of my entire life. I'm going home tomorrow and headed to Vegas on the 28th. If you want to watch the wedding video, it will be posted here by Saturday, January 5th at 3:30pm.

total chaos with a veil on top

Well, all I've managed to do the last two weeks is eat too much, work out too little, turn my room into a war zone, drive all over the south, fight with credit card companies and have a knock down drag out with the post office.

At Thanksgiving I left my wallet under the table in a bar, but I didn't know I left it at the bar, I was convinced it was stolen, so I canceled everything, only to find my wallet. Now I argue with the credit card companies about various problems. Also, the post office lost a very important package with a dress in it and now I have to pay a whole lot more for another one.

Despite all of this, I'm about to move in with the man I love, graduate with a Masters degree and have the job fairy leave a nice, pretty, perfect job under my pillow in exchange for the tooth I'm getting a new crown on tomorrow (wouldn't that be nice?).

Here's what you missed:
I went home
Ashur turned 6
Jed broke his finger
Isabella's a pro-crawler
I went to Baton Rouge
David and I are getting married

What, what's that you say, are you and David getting married?

Chandle and David, take two: January 4th, Las Vegas, Nevada, Red Rock canyon at 3pm, be here or be square (I'll post the video link a couple of days after) I promise, I'll post pictures. Don't worry, we'll have a little get together in Little Rock one of these days. We wanted it to be a surprise, but you know how good I am at surprises. We don't want a big to-do, we just want to get married.

P.S. that is NOT my dress, boo David's bridal, my dress is lost in the fourth dimension of the Dallas post office.

Anyway, I'm sorry I'm such a bad blogger. I promise, soon my life will be so exciting, you'll be checking my blog with baited breath.

Dinosaurs

For Ashur's birthday (which is the 25th of this month, he'll be six) my mom came down and we all went to see Walking with the Dinosaurs. These are pictures of us before the show, and during the show. Can you tell that the dinosaurs were scary?

Happy Birthday, Jed

I finished my Capstone paper today, and now I have loads of daytime tv to watch while I try and find a job. Anyway, the 14th is the birthday of my precious nephew Jed. Happy Birthday, Jedder, the big 2.
Big events are starting up this Friday for graduation. It's officially the 14th of December so I've got one whole month left. David has graduate reviews tomorrow so everyone wish him luck.
