Were too old for this stuff

.

Long story short,
when no one knows who your costume is, b/c it's too old for them, that's when you need to call it quits for Halloween. We would tell people, "we're She-ra and He-man," and they would say "who?" or "Oh...." It was pretty awful. We also left the apt to go to the big block party, and ended up stuck outside some road blocks with police around them preventing any possible fun from happening and preventing us from going home. They told us absolutely no one was allowed in, even if we lived there, and that there would be no party, and that we would not be allowed in until they felt like it. Needless to say, we were a little bit cold and got stuck in a lousy bar for several hours before we eventually climbed through a hole in the fence at Jack in the Box at 2am to go home.

The rest of the week was spent looking for jobs and looking for housing, neither of which we found.

I gotta kick it in high gear this week b/c the board meeting is next Monday, so here's some pictures, enjoy. The best is with "nick nolte"

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

I know, I've been MIA for the last week. I've been running around all over the place trying to get my life organized. David and I are trying to find a house with a yard for the dogs; I'm trying to find a job, and we're both trying to make it through the rest of the semester. I had to take a test yesterday to apply for state jobs, so good thing that's out of the way. I'm in Baton Rouge and going to an art opening tonight. I've been looking for jobs all day and I'm pooped. Here's some pictures from pumpkin carving last week, and David, eating 3 chimichangas for breakfast.

Heroes Fest 2007

I am totally addicted to Heroes. David lent me the dvds and, when I'm not at work, I just sit in front of the TV or work out and watch Heroes. I also get to enter 7 years of California county level birth data (number and rate) for teenagers. Believe me, it takes a long time. I've been working on it for 2 days and have 3 1/2 years done. It's kinda mind numbing. I've already clocked 200 hours for my capstone. I'm kinda waiting for those last few surveys to trickle in, and when they do, I can finish it all up. I'm going to Baton Rouge next week to take "the Professional Entry Test" to give me the ability to apply for a job with the government of Louisiana. While watching ridiculous amounts of TV I had a chance to make my She-ra costume and b/c most of you won't get to see me next weekend, here it is. Enjoy. By the power of Greyskull!

All that "not eating cheesecake" pays off

Since May, I've lost 16 pounds. As of today, I weigh what I weighed in undergrad! I would like to celebrate this with an entire lemon meringue pie (you know you want one since you watched desperate housewives), but instead, I am going to Emily to get a shiny new haircut. My last haircut cost 1 dollar in Nepal, and turned out suspiciously choppy. Before my haircut, I will engage in the procrastination levels, and work out and finish my paper.

Tomorrow it will actually be autumn, not pseudo-autumn. Life is good. Break out the jackets and boots, cause I'm gonna look good in 'em.

Professional staller.

I've been so busy this week with school, that I feel like I'm always 10 minutes late to everything, I have no idea what I'm doing, and I travel with a huge bag filled with everything I could possibly need, but that one thing I forgot. Thank goodness the focus group and Jonesboro trip are over. It's been a crazy couple of weeks, but I've gotten started on my elective paper (which I seem to consitently forget about), and I plan on catching up on my reading and finishing my paper this weekend. Horray for me. My weight loss appears to be at a halt, but it's probably due to all that makeshift eating out for 2 weeks. I caught up on the Office and Grey's Anatomy, God bless free internet TV. Today is a two huge cups of coffee day, so I can motivate myself to write a paper, despite the football game going on already outside my window. I have varying levels of exhausted procrastination and here they are, in order.
I would rather sleep than eat and watch TV
I would rather watch TV and eat than clean
I would rather clean than work out
I would rather work out than write my paper
therefore I will probably start writing my paper again around 1pm.
I hope your weekend is only filled with the first two levels of procrastination.
